Overview
ReturnPod is an uptime monitoring SaaS we designed, built and run. It checks websites and services every minute, alerts the owner when something goes down or recovers, and publishes a public status page.
The goal
Small teams and side projects need to know the moment a site goes down, but many monitoring tools are priced and built for large companies. The goal was a simple, low-cost monitor with a generous free plan that can also act as a second opinion next to an existing tool.
What we built
- HTTP/HTTPS, keyword-in-page and TCP host:port checks at a 1-minute interval, plus heartbeat monitors for cron jobs on Pro.
- Down and recovery alerts by email and webhook, with Slack and Discord on Pro.
- Hosted public status pages with incidents, uptime history and response time charts, plus custom domains and status subscriptions on Pro.
- A free plan (5 monitors, 1 status page, no card required) and a Pro plan (50 monitors, 5 status pages) with Stripe billing.
- Product docs covering monitors, alerts, status pages and heartbeats, plus a blog.
